The Deming Headlight: ‘Teeniors’ introduce elders to tech
DEMING — Teeniors, the Tech Savvy Teens Empowering Seniors program, will revisit the Deming community this October. Teeniors debuted in town in 2022 and have made a huge impact in the senior community since then.
Teeniors focus on helping seniors understand and learn how to use technology through one-on-one coaching sessions or in group settings. It also provides jobs for teens and young adults, according to Trish Lopez, Teeniors’ founder and CEO.
“It’s really like a two-part mission to empower older adults to connect with their communities through technology and provide paid, meaningful jobs,” Lopez said.
The program does not limit itself to smartphone or tablet coaching, but includes a wide range of technological devices and software, according to Lopez.
